Representative Thomas Kutz visits our school frequently to read to our students and engage with them. Today, he read to Mrs. Himmel's class. Even our facility dog Sunny enjoyed listening and learning about the three branches of government.

Our new guest management system is now live at Elmwood! Special thanks to Rep. Kutz's Chief of Staff, Brett Gavin for being the first person to test it out this morning. This system will add another layer of safety for our school.

🎤 Nathaniel, a Wildcat at Elmwood Academy, showcased his leadership and communication skills on the morning announcements yesterday… and he’s not stopping there!
🍋 This afternoon, you can find him running a lemonade stand from 12–3 p.m. at the Upper Allen JoJo’s parking lot—all to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Mrs. Hutcheson leads students in "Cracking the Muffin Code" in math class. Students have a chance to re-engage with a math problem from last week and revise their thinking over some real muffins.

We love having our local legislators come to Elmwood and read to our students. Today, Representative Thomas Kutz joins Mrs. Bull's 4th grade class to read a book and explain his role in serving our community.

The milkweed out front is a perfect spot for our caterpillars' metamorphic stages. It was planted by a former Elmwood student and parent a few years ago. The change happening before our eyes is symbolic of the growth happening in our building as we try to stretch our students as critical and creative thinkers!

Mrs. Hutcheson and teachers led a 4th Grade Morning Meeting to give students an opportunity to meet new friends and connect with old ones as well as become more familiar with adults they may see around the building.

Last week, our staff trained our students in knowing "The Wildcat Way," specific to Elmwood Academy. Pictured here, our teachers led a game of Family Feud with the students to teach expectations for the hallway and restroom. Our students are doing a great job demonstrating this around our school!
